Founder of Judaism
Abraham was the father and founder of Judaism. He founded the religion 4,000 years ago. Abraham is important to Christianity and Islam too. Jewish people see Abraham as a symbol of trusting and obeying god. He was considered the founder of Judaism because he promoted the central idea of the Jewish Faith that is one god. It is told that Abraham and his wife, Sarah, were told by god that their children would be as plentiful as the stars in the sky. This gradually came true.

Religious Leader of Judaism
Abraham was the first Hebrew. God was the spiritual leader and he still is. Abraham's son, Isaac had a son named Jacob, also known as Israel. In this way the descendants of Abraham came to be known as the israelites.
